... but we are all a little different than we might otherwise be, had we not been part of the VROM, ridden with, chatted to or just logged on and read comments.

Life evolves and we move on but our experiences are forever a part of us.

... the past is gone but the memories linger.
Nicely stated, Hawk. Thanks for the support.

It's been a few years since i moved away and while going through a box of junk i found some snaps of my days riding with Julia, Bog and some of the gang.
As usually happens when one leaves the country, i lost contact with the gang and with old age creeping up on me i'm becoming nostalgic for the old days, hahaha.

To recap, in 2005 i lost my job due to downsizing and feeling like i needed a change i decided to move to Spain. I sold my beloved cruiser and shipped my SV and the rest  of my meager belongings overseas...that was 5 years ago. After a long struggle trying to find work and adapting to a newish culture i'm finally settled in and enjoying it.

Sadly i ended up selling the SV about two years ago. With no one to ride with and extra responsibilities that took up my waking hours i decided it was time for it to go to a new owner.  Still miss it though, it was a great bike.  I'm now looking for a scooter to fulfill my need for two wheels and deal with the commutes and lack of parking.

Anyway, i'm sure a few of you will remember me. If not here's a before and after. Let me know how you're doing, how life has been treating you. I'd love to hear about it.

Albert

Perhaps, like so many of us, you have drifted away from the group Karen.  Remember though, that each and every person of the almost 550 members has had some influence on all of us.  Some more than others, to be sure ... but we are all a little different than we might otherwise be, had we not been part of the VROM, ridden with, chatted to or just logged on and read comments.

Yes, I'm kind of nostalgic to think of what was and perhaps, what could have been ....  But I'm glad for the interaction I've had with all of you.  Can it continue?  Should it continue?  Who knows?  The GVMC is approaching its 90th Anniversary .... it is a dynamic group that is constantly changing over the years with old members moving on and new ones joining in.  None of the charter members are still here, of course ... but their influence is.  And the thousands of friendships cannot be forgotten.

When this forum platform was changed, a great deal of time and effort was put into switching the historical posts so the the history might be preserved.  I've often gone back to those earlier days to reminice in the old postings.

Yes, you're quite correct Karen, the past is gone but the memories linger.

You're a dreamer.  Tongue

The old family is gone and they're not coming back together.  I think sometimes it's best to leave things to memory.  I really won't be spending much time here Paul.

I guess I am a dreamer.  Smiley  But it is from dreams that new things are born.
