Cool More risk in buying impounded stuff since 'ya never know "what"
you're getting. Ideally you have to be there to at least visually inspect
the product, and don't know what conditions you're inheriting...etc.

Separate from that, remember that fall isn't now far away:
Prices always drop then for the winter ramifications of our industry!

I'm well aware of that, which is also why I'm in no rush to buy the bike.

I've also sort of fixated on a suzuki Katana (either 600 or 750 will be fine) and am on the look out for one at a reasonable price and within a reasonable distance.
I won't say it's the only bike I'll ride, but I really like the design and the seating position is awesome.

I'm really in no rush, besides the fact that I'd really like to get it over and registered before school starts, so I can avoid paying the ridiculous parking fees at UBC (buses don't work for my hours, which is especially sad considering I live 3 blocks from the UBC 480 line stop).

Thread closed. I am now bike-enabled Cool

However, since my previous license was in the making back when I sold the KZ, it expired and renewing 6L permit means I gotta take the MST again... Anybody wanna take me for a ride?  *wink* *wink*

Cool If nobody comes forward, Nissan, call me: We've got to get
you dunked!!!

And how soon, is soon? I'm off to the IPSC Provincials in Kelowna
for the whole weekend at month end (Fri. through Mon.), as well as
a practise match this Sunday. Leaves only some time this Saturday
for the soonest my body can do anything?! Separately, you could
call Barry who lives in the Kits area and has a bike like yours...
he doesn't have Windows so is inactive on Vrom (yeah, he's a real
bonafide geek ...lol!)....but get going and get it done!!!

How soon is soon? is that a trick question? It's soon DUH!

Anyway, I should have probably mentioned the bike is a 1999 katana 750. It's blue, too, which is cool Tongue

Left it in Paul's shop as I still need to get a couple of things done on it before it's properly maintained for a decent ride (rear brake pad, front sprocket, tires, some other small stuff, like changing the aluminum clutch and brake levers with some decent steel or titanium levers that won't snap at the slightest tug).
Gonna do it tomorrow.

Not to mention, technically speaking, it would be illegal for me to ride it home  Cool

or if you take your written, I can follow you home

bob

ps: and Virgil, like Hawk said, I've been re-reading your prev posts and I'm still trying to make sense of it.  too theoretical for my simple mind

Cool Yeah, Bob, but, that's good for 'ya (!)
Hey, if you stick with what you've got, one goes nowhere. Fast!
If you push the limits, the limits push back, and 'ya has growth!
Says philosophy (et al.)!
PS: Anyway, teasing aside, my lingo was sort of directed to,
Nissan's background, etc......

I think if you mentally omit the comas that appear to be breeding like rabbits in Virgil's posts, they make a lot more sense and are easier to read Smiley
