Thread from the grave!

First off, I live in Abbotsford and came across this thread through various Google searches.

Anyways

I'm pretty much in the same position that Daiken was earlier this year. I just got both my Class 7L and Class 8L. Already in the Class 7 GLP program with Valley Driving School (mucho $$$). I was planning on taking motorcycle training with VDS, except for 2 things: 1. They don't do Class 8 (ICBC says they do), and 2. Money doesn't grow on trees.

So I'm looking for someone to basically show me the ropes (I'm as green as they come). I want to be able to pass the MST, get my own bike (have some ideas), and then take the professional training later. Speaking of which, I'll be looking for a program that actually takes Class 8L students (ICBC's list is of no help). PRS sounds great, but is likely too far and too much money right now. Plus it's likely the most unenjoyable commute in all of BC.

I won't leave my personal email here publicly (it gets 0 spam and I'd like to keep it that way), but replies would be appreciated.

My suggestion....save your money and take a professional course.....FIRST.

If you have almost no experience driving at any capacity, you are better off learning the rules of the road in a car first.

Once you have a grasp on that, take a local riding course, the full course, yes, it will cost $700+, and yes, it's worth every penny.

You mentioned buying a bike, and you mentioned too much money.....time to prioritize imo.

Cool Since you sound somewhat adamant on some of this then also
consider your own mechanical leanings, if any. Because if you have
some, you could try this route since such talents can/should sail
you through....and if the case,  what about a cheap Scooter?
Since the core riding issue is addressed on such two wheels, etc.(!) Roll Eyes

Then once you're in, sell the Scooter and upgrade to a motorcycle....
and if also interested in the 250cc genre, look also at the 250 Ninja:
new it's around only $4,000~!
