Several of us remember when the BC Safety Council started a Motorcycle Training program way back when there were no others. Over the years, they gathered some very good research and developed their course material ..... only to have it all come crashing down a few months ago.

Well they've reincarnated themselves and are now targeting the "mature" riders (Those like me who really need it but think we don't.) The launch was at the Bike show. I wish Bryan and his staff every success .....

Thank you so much for your support, Hawk.  If anyone here has any questions about us, who we are and what we're doing, please, ask away either here or directly on VIA e-mail.

 Cool Great niche training venture!

Have you maybe also thought of a new product nobody has applied that I know of
but kicked around with friends: some (many?) for numerous and sultry reasons
may never get around to upgrading themselves but would both appreciate and
also be challenged to grow into a possible course consideration via, or through
a "product" along the lines of a low-fee based couple of hour long, rap session
held somewhere, whose focus would be "overview" review of some core applicable material?

It would be along the comparative lines of what Bernie had done a few years back
in "packaging" some core basics on Motorcycle Maintenance, and had great success
with attendees: he made his money, the attendees walked away if nothing else,
more confident to keep spilling their oil when doing oil changes but now in a
different direction, etc. (!!!) Shocked

Anyway, this kind of thing might also bring you additional income from a target audience of
riders that otherwise won't or don't do anything else?  Not sure if that makes sense but
that's the basic idea for your consideration, and disposition! Undecided (Hoping thereby also
to help your great business !)

The booth at the show looked quite well done, I know it was rushed, but you guys made a nice showing.

I think there's a market for this training locally, looking forward to seeing/hearing more about it.

Thanks for the compliments on the booth CHIA.  It was definitely a lot of hard work in a short period of time trying to get ready for the bike show.  That was just the beginning though, and the hard work is continuing everyday to make this the very best experienced rider training available.

Virgil,

We have LOTS of ideas and we are working very hard on making them all a reality.  We have plans to hold free information nights where you can come down to hear more about the programs, motorcycle safety in general and have a “rap session’ as you say.

We will also hold other session throughout the year on various motorcycle topics.  We will definitely be putting on some sort of free seminar for motorcycle awareness month in May.

We will try to post up on the forums when we have more details but you can always check to see what we’re up to on our website  http://www.roadcraftacademy.com/  The calendar page will be continually updated with not only coursed dates & availability but also all the applicable details on seminar nights and events we plan to appear at.

Additionally, for our students we will be holding an annual spring refresher day where for a reasonably low cots you will be able to come out to the closed course and ride though all the exercises to sharpen up your skills for the new riding season.  Instructors will be on hand to answer questions, offer advice & cook you lunch!

These are just a few of the things that are in the works.  More to follow, stay tuned...

Best regards,

Steve

RoadCraft Motorcycle Academy update:

Our third "Base Camp" training course has now been and gone and we're heading into our first "Mid Camp" session this weekend.  It has all been very exciting and the support has been - just awesome.  Our website is constantly being refined (Hey, I'm a rider trainer, not a website designer!) and something were very proud to have on there now is a Testimonials page where some of our customers comments have been added.

Some things we're involved in right now:

The Gord Heppler Memorial ride - May 16th (this weekend!) - we donated a Base Camp course as a silent auction item.  All proceeds go to help the kids at BC Children's hospital.  http://www.gvmc.ca/eventdetails.asp?ID=132

The Ultimate Road Trip Contest, from Trev Deeley Harley Davidson, Shore 104FM, and RoadCraft Motorcycle Academy.  Grand prize is a acommodations in Whistler and tickets to the Colin James concert, and second prize is a RoadCraft training course.  http://www.shore104.com/eventdetail.cfm?EventID=400

You'll also find us on Twitter and Facebook...

Hope to see you on a RoadCraft course in the future.
