This has been a semi hot topic for a while now, and I'm taking the lead and going to try and make this happen.
**** FIRST BIKE NIGHT FOR 2010 - TUESDAY , MAY 4th!!! ***TIME TO GET THIS SEASON ROLLING WITH A SOCIAL EVENT THAT EVERYONE'S WELCOME TO ATTEND! FACEBOOK EVENT - http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/event.php?eid=109452055754587&ref=nfPlease use the FB event to confirm, if you have access, as it REALLY helps us get an idea of attendance and helps make sure we have enough food for the BBQ!!I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ONE SPECIAL CALL OUT THIS SEASON - IF A FEW PEOPLE CAN STEP UP, AND HELP WITH SETUP AND TAKE DOWN, THIS WOULD BE VERY WELCOMED.
THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE SAME PEOPLE EACH AND EVERY TIME, BUT IF A COUPLE PEOPLE WOULD VOLUNTEER AT EACH EVENT, WITH MANNING THE BBQ, HELPING SET UP CHAIRS, ETC, THAT WOULD GO A LONG WAY IN KEEPING THIS FROM BEING A WORK PROJECT FOR BILL @ 5TH GEAR, AND GIVE EVERYONE MORE TIME ENJOY THE SOCIAL ASPECT.
LAST YEAR, THERE WERE ALMOST ALWAYS PEOPLE WHO STEPPED UP, AND HELPED OUT, BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT TO KNOW SLIGHTLY AHEAD OF TIME, SO THIS DOESN'T BECOME A PROJECT AT THE END OF THE DAY FOR BILL TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT.....HE'S GIVES A LOT, AND THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO PAY IT FORWARD A LIL. Where: @ 5th Gear's lot - unit 2170-21000-Westminster Hwy., Richmond **IN THE BACK, NOT FRONT** When: 6-10pm (stay for a couple hours, or stay for a few minutes)
Who: Everyone's welcome, one criteria, must ride!
*** Bike nights will be held every second Wednesday from now on, throughout the summer. ***
********************************** ********************************** The concept, as many of you are aware, is simply an opportunity for riders to gather, hang out and socialize. This is also an excellent opportunity for new riders to come out, meet some people, with no pressure, no worries getting in over their heads, and no expectations...take advantage!! As this picks up momentum, I'm sure some people will step up, offer suggestions, and support, but for now, we're keeping it simple. I expect, based on conversations and member's posts, that we should have a minimum of 50 bikes for this first night. Bill @ 5th Gear has offered up the use of a BBQ, secure, safe, private area for bikes, and coolers for drinks. This is a great opportunity for people to meet, shoot the shit about our common interests and passion...riding! Really looking forward to seeing a great turnout next month!!!
