I was just wondering, can a off duty p*liceman issue a ticket ? W/o properly identifying the rider ?

As far as I know, police officers are peace officers and they are on duty 24/7.

A police officer is a police officer 24/7.  You didn't say what the ticket was for ...??

I hate to belabour the point, but if you were a member of the BCCOM you have free legal advice from their lawyers.  Jim McNeney is quite an expert on the law when it comes to motorcycle issues.  In addition to his services, many bike shops and secondary insurers give discounts to BCCOM members too.  Worth a look ...

I was passing a long row of slow moving cars on the right and one cut in front of me intentionally. At the first gap I passed that one as well. Next traffic light the guy who cut in front of me pulls on my right, shows me the badge and says "you'll get a ticket". That's it, no "licence and registration", no anything.
About being a cop 24/7, I've already found court rulings against. So I'm ready to take on the guy if he really issues the ticket.

Passing on the right is not legal here. And the cop does not have to ask for your licence or registration.
Were you passing on the shoulder??? If so, the ticket will stick

I got a lane changing ticket on sea to sky by the off duty head cop from squamish, I took it to court and won because of a no show. But he can issue one under the law. But will most likely not show up to court to fight just one tix unless you pissed him off or hes triying to make a point.

Ok, I dropped by the Swan yesterday and left some "What to say" cards on the counter.  These were developed by PIVOT and the BCCOM and they outline your rights when dealing with the police. These are specific to BC because they were developed as a result of the most recent court decisions in this Province.

You owe it to yourself to be informed of your rights.
